Extrusion Printable

Clog and Under-Extrusion Checklist

A printable workflow for missing lines, clicking extruder, partial clogs, weak top layers, and intermittent flow.

Confirm the symptom

  • Look for missing lines or gaps.
  • Listen for extruder clicking/grinding.
  • Check whether the issue happens at the same height or randomly.
  • Try a manual extrusion test at normal temperature.
Notes:

Flow path checks

  • Check spool movement and filament drag.
  • Inspect extruder gears for debris.
  • Check nozzle temperature is correct for material.
  • Try a cold pull or nozzle cleaning workflow.
  • Replace nozzle if cleaning does not restore flow.
Notes:

After correction

  • Print a small flow test.
  • Record maintenance notes in Profile Vault.
  • Run Filament Advisor if symptoms return with one spool.
  • Use AI Doctor if heat creep or recurring clogs continue.
