Diagnostic Test Bench

Use the tests in order. Do not tune pressure advance, retraction or acceleration before first-layer, extrusion and temperature behavior are stable.

Recommended order

First layer → temperature → flow → retraction → pressure advance → resonance → bridge → dimensional fit.

Test 1

First-layer test

Confirm bed cleanliness, mesh and Z offset before tuning anything else.

Open guide

Member unlock: Save results by plate and material.
Test 2

Temperature test

Find a stable temperature range with good bonding and limited stringing.

Open guide

Member unlock: Store best values per filament spool.
Test 3

Flow and wall test

Check wall thickness and surface quality before adjusting dimensional compensation.

Open guide

Member unlock: Calculate and save corrected extrusion multiplier.
Test 4

Retraction and travel test

Separate moisture and heat effects from actual retraction needs.

Open guide

Member unlock: Save direct-drive or Bowden-specific results.
Test 5

Pressure advance test

Reduce corner bulges and improve line starts after flow is calibrated.

Open guide

Member unlock: Track values by material and toolhead.
Test 6

Ringing and resonance test

Identify acceleration or mechanical limits without hiding faults in slicer settings.

Open guide

Member unlock: Save maximum reliable acceleration by printer.
Test 7

Bridge and cooling test

Balance bridge speed, temperature and cooling.

Open guide

Member unlock: Store bridge overrides by material.
Test 8

Dimensional fit test

Confirm holes, pins and mating parts after flow and first-layer corrections.

Open guide

Member unlock: Save fit compensation by printer and nozzle.
